This Giving Tuesday and Beyond: Give the Gift of Homeownership by Becoming a Wider Path Home Foundation Recurring Donor from December 2025 - December 2026 

This Giving Tuesday and throughout this entire giving season, the Wider Path Home Foundation Team cordially invites you to help low-income families move from renting to owning by supporting a clear and achievable path to homeownership. With the rising cost of food, healthcare, and basic essentials, many families are forced to choose between monthly expenses and saving for the future. Rent continues to rise, leaving little room to build stability, savings, or long term security.
Homeownership changes that. Mortgage payments are often lower than rent. Owning a home creates stability, equity, and generational wealth. However, the greatest barriers remain the same across communities: upfront costs and the lack of culturally responsive resources and access to financial education.


Wider Path Home addresses these challenges, currently with a focus on serving families in Baltimore and in North Carolina, by providing flexible down payment assistance, comprehensive financial literacy/homebuyer education, and connection to conscientious lenders and community-based partnerships. We serve families who have historically been excluded from access to homeownership opportunities. More than 80% of the families we serve are Black. We have also supported Latino and Hispanic, Asian, Indian, White, and immigrant households. Many are women led families working toward stability and opportunity. 


By becoming a recurring donor from December 2025 through December 2026, you will help families overcome real financial barriers and take meaningful steps toward purchasing a safe and affordable home. Recurring gifts are especially meaningful because they provide steady support we can count on, allowing us to plan confidently to serve more families all year long by giving them the education and opportunity to build a strong future.

Our Mission

Wider Path Home Foundation is grounded in responding to America’s history of restricting access to safe, quality, and affordable land, housing, and other essential sustainable resources for African Americans and those facing a similar plight. Because of this history, our mission is to bring housing industry leaders together to support affordable housing through education, community development, and down payment assistance.


We network with the housing industry and other industry partners to fill in needed supports for local community development that advance housing equity, affordability, and stability.
